ADA -- The Ohio Northern baseball team dropped both games of a double header to Marietta on Friday afternoon at Wander Field.
The Polar Bears drop to 19-10 on the season and 7-7 in the OAC, while the Pioneers move to 22-10, 11-3.
Marietta captured Game 1 by a 10-1 score and won the second game 5-2.
In the first game, sophomore Zach Maier (3-3) went 5.2 innings, giving up three earned runs and striking out two batters.
Northern trailed 1-0 after five innings, before Marietta scored six times in the sixth to put the game away.
Junior Jack LaMarca drove in ONU's lone run, on a sac fly to left in the ninth inning, that scored senior Tyler Deitering.
In the second game, MC struck for two in the first inning to jump out to a 2-0 lead.
But the Polar Bears came right back, scoring twice in the bottom half to tie the game, on a RBI double from LaMarca and a RBI groundout from junior Dan Belliveau.
The Pioneers would add two runs in the second and another in the third for a 5-2 lead.
Deitering (2-1) fired 7.0 innings, striking out seven batters.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Monday, when it travels to Bluffton for a non-conference double header that begins at 2 pm.
