DELEWARE -- Freshman Nick Eltzroth went 2-for-3 with a run scored to lead the Ohio Northern baseball team in its 14-5 loss to Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon at Littick Field.
The loss drops Northern to 9-11 on the season, while the Battling Bishops improve to 8-5.
Eltzroth reached base a total of three times in the game.
A bases loaded double by senior Kevin Obarski in the third inning brought the Polar Bears to within 4-3.
ONU also scored two runs on the ninth inning.
Junior Tyler Deitering ripped a double, scoring sophomore Derek Lenardos.
After a single, freshman Reed Allen hit a sacrifice fly to score Lenardos.
Freshman Ben Eckert took the loss and falls to 0-2 on the year, while Paul Priddy (1-0) pitched four scoreless innings in relief for OWU to pick up the win.
Ohio Northern will return to the diamond on Saturday, when it hosts Otterbein in a double header that begins at 1 pm.
