Volleyball gets back on track with 3-0 sweep at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD — Ohio Northern picked up its first Ohio Athletic Conference victory of the season with a 25-17, 25-14, 25-23 victory at Muskingum on Saturday afternoon at the Steele Center.

The Basics

• Records: Ohio Northern (15-5 Overall, 1-2 OAC), Muskingum (8-8 Overall, 1-2 OAC).

Match Highlights

• Senior Erin Wagner (Massillon/Perry) had a match-high 16 kills and hit .353 to lead the Polar Bears.
• Senior Sonia Dahlin (Minnetonka, Minn.) added nine kills.
• Senior Lauren James (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) had a match-high 7 blocks.
• Senior Grace Conrad (Somerset/Sheridan) had 25 assists.
• Senior Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) had a team-leading 14 digs.
• Freshman Summer Hoying (Fort Loramie) had five kills and 11 digs.
• Muskingum was led by Mackenzie Krous with nine kills. 
• The Polar Bears hit .270 for the match with 44 kills, while the Muskies hit .083 with 34 kills in the match.

• Ohio Northern leads the all-time series against MU by a 64-17 margin. ONU is 20-10 at Muskingum.
• James is now 9th all-time in ONU history with 321 blocks in 94 career matches.
• Jennings now has 1,883 digs in 99 career matches, and moved up to No. 5 on ONU's all-time top 10 list in that category.
• Jennings entered the 2024 season ranked eighth nationally in digs among active Division III players.
• Conrad is eighth on ONU's all-time career assist list with 2,282 in 98 career matches. 
• Wagner now ranks fifth all-time in ONU's top-10 list for hitting percentage, hitting .332 in 94 career matches.
• She also has 1,105 career kills.
• Sophie Windover is now 31-15 in her two seasons as head coach of the ONU volleyball team, a winning percentage of .667.
