Senior Erin Wagner joins 1,000-Kill Club as Volleyball wraps up 45th Annual ONU Invitational with perfect 4-0 record

ADA — Senior Erin Wagner (Massillon/Perry) had 31 kills in two matches to join the 1,000-Kill Club, as Ohio Northern finished the second day of the 45th Annual ONU Invitational with victories over Manchester (Ind.) and Hanover (Ind.) on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester Match Highlights

• Senior Erin Wagner (Massillon/Perry) had a match-high 10 kills and hit .444.
• She entered the match with 995 kills and joined the 1,000-Kill Club early in the second set.
• Freshman Summer Hoying (Fort Loramie) also had a match-high 10 kills and hit .409.
• Senior Sonia Dahlin (Minnetonka, Minn.) added eight kills with a .500 hitting percentage.
• Senior Grace Conrad (Somerset/Sheridan) freshman Haley Hammer (Cecil/Fairview) each had assists.
• Senior Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) had a team-leading 17 digs.
• Manchester was led by Carly Camp with 8 kills. 
• The Polar Bears hit .323 with 41 kills, while the Spartans hit .082 with 30 kills in the match.

• Wagner had a match-high 21 kills with six blocks and hit .439.
• Sophomore Olivia Baumann (Eaton) had a career-high 14 kills and hit .481.
• Senior Lauren James (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) had four kills and a ream-best seven blocks.
• Conrad and Hammer each had 24 assists.
• Jennings had a team-leading 15 digs.
• Hanover was led by Abbey McCoy with 12 kills. 
• The Polar Bears hit .293 with 63 kills, while the Panthers hit .107 with 43 kills in the match.

Notables

• Wagner was named the Tournament MVP, while Jennings and Hoying joined Wagner on the All-Tournament Team.
• Ohio Northern leads the all-time series against Manchester by a 5-0 margin and Hanover by a 17-1 count.
• Jennings now has 1,817 digs in 94 career matches, and is No. 6 on ONU's all-time top 10 list in that category.
• Jennings entered the 2024 season ranked eighth nationally in digs among active Division III players.
• Conrad is eighth on ONU's all-time career assist list with 2,181 in 93 career matches. 
• Wagner now ranks fifth all-time in ONU's top-10 list for hitting percentage, hitting .332 in 89 career matches.
• She also has 1,026 career kills and needs just five more to reach the 1,000-kill plateau.
• Sophie Windover is now 28-13 in her second season as head coach of the ONU volleyball team, a winning percentage of .683.
