Volleyball sweeps Earlham (Ind.) 25-11, 25-12, 25-16 in home opener

ADA — Ohio Northern volleyball team opened the home portion of its schedule with a 25-11, 25-12, 25-16 sweep of Earlham (Ind.) on Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.

• Senior Erin Wagner (Massillon/Perry) had a match-high 14 kills and hit an impressive .609 for the match.
• Sophomore Olivia Baumann (Eaton) added seven kills for ONU.
• Senior Lauren James (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) added six kills and a team-best six blocks.
• Senior Grace Conrad (Somerset/Sheridan) had 17 assists.
• Senior Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) and freshan Summer Hoying (Fort Loramie) each had a team-leading 13 digs.
• Ohio Northern was in control throughout the match, holding leads of 5-0 and 10-4 in each of the three sets.
• The Polar Bears hit .240 with 42 kills, while the Quakers hit -.087 with 14 kills in the match.

Notables

• Ohio Northern leads the all-time series between the two schools by a 5-0 margin, including a 3-0 mark in Ada.
• In her last two matches, Wagner has 29 kills in only 45 attempts and has hit an incredible .622 diring that span.
• Jennings now has 1,656 digs in 86 career matches, and is No. 8 on ONU's all-time top 10 list in that category.
• Jennings entered the 2024 season ranked eighth nationally in digs among active Division III players.
• Conrad is eighth on ONU's all-time career assist list with 1,979 in 85 career matches. 
• Wagner now ranks fifth all-time in ONU's top-10 list for hitting percentage, hitting .320 in 81 career matches.
• Sophie Windover is now 21-11 in her second season as head coach of the ONU volleyball team.
