ADA — The Ohio Northern volleyball team ran its winning streak to six matches with a pair of 3-set victories over Heidelberg on Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.
Junior Melina Woods (Ada) had 30 kills in the two matches to lead the Polar Bears (10-2 overall, 10-2 Ohio Athletic Conference).
The Student Princes fall to 5-7, 5-7.
Woods had 14 kills and freshman Sydney Eggleton (Southfield, Mich./Farmington) had 12 kills as ONU won the opening match 25-15, 25-11, 25-19.
ONU scored the first 11 points of the opening set to set the tone for the evening.
Junior Hannah Irmer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) had 17 digs and junior Kiki Carle (Cincinnati/Mother of Mercy) dished out 37 assists.
In the second match, the Polar Bears won 25-10, 25-18, 25-20.
Woods had 16 kills and freshman Ava Ehlinger (New Carlisle/Tecumseh) had 13 kills for ONU.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Friday when they host Capital at Noon on Senior Day.
