No. 18-ranked Volleyball sweeps Denison 25-14, 25-13, 25-9

ADA — The No. 18-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team swept Denison 25-14, 25-13, 25-9 on Wednesday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears (4-1 overall) had six runs of at least five consecutive points to dominate the Big Red (1-3).
Junior Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) had 11 kills and junior McKenna Jordan (Toledo/Saint Ursula) added 10 kills for ONU.
DU was led by Emma Woerner with eight kills.
Northern his a blistering .419 for the match and was at .400 or better in each of the three games.
In Game 1, ONU led 9-8 when a 6-0 run made it a 15-8 advantage. Another 6-0 run put Northern on top 24-13.
Denison jumped to a 3-0 lead in game two, but the Polar Bears rattled off five straight points to take a 7-5 lead.
The score was tied at 10-all when Ohio Northern went on an impressive 12-0 run, keyed by four kills from Jordan and two aces from junior McKenna Hostetler (Plain City/Alder), to take a 22-10 lead.
DU led 3-1 early in Game 3 when ONU went on runs of 7-0, 8-0 and 6-0 to take command at 24-8.
In all, 15 Polar Bears saw action in the contest as ONU.
Northern finished with 43 kills on only 86 attacks with just seven errors, while Denison hit .071 with 21 kills and 15 errors on 85 attacks.
Sophomore Katie Wade (Battle Creek, Mich./Harper Creek) dished out 35 assists and junior Madison Broering (Saint Henry) had 17 digs in the match for Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears will have a quick turnaround with just one day off before playing three matches at the Bluffton Spiketacular Friday and Saturday.
