STOW — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team split a pair of matches indoors on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears opened the day with a 7-0 win over Grove City (Pa.), then fell to No. 16-ranked Case Western Reserve 7-0.

  • Freshman Molly McLane (Westerville/Big Walnut) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
  • Junior Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) and freshman Leah Schleibaum (West Chester/Lakota West) won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
  • Freshman Lauren Okrainec (Ingersoll, ON, Canada/Homeschool) won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.

Match 2 - CWR 7, ONU 0

  • The No. 16-ranked Spartans swept all nine courts.
  • Okrainec was outstanding at No. 1 singles, battling No. 38-ranked Lily McCloskey to a 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 decision at No. 1 singles.
