Women's Tennis tops Seton Hill, drops tight match to Connecticut College on second day of spring break trip

The Ohio Northern women's tennis team continued its spring break trip with a 6-1 victory over Seton Hill (Pa.) and a tight 4-3 loss to Connecticut College on Tuesday.
The Basics

Match 1 - ONU 6, SHU 1
- Northern won the doubles point by taking courts 2 and 3, then won five of the six singles courts to improve to 2-0 on the spring break trip.
- Freshman Leah Schleibaum (West Chester/Lakota West) and Caroline Robinson (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
- Freshmen Julianne Hindman (Avon) and Taylor Allen (Zionsville, Ind.) won 7-5 at No. 3 doubles.
- Freshman Lauren Okrainec (Ingersoll, ON, Canada/Homeschool) won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles.
- Junior Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
- Junior Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
- Senior Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.
- Sophomore Molly McLane (Westerville/Big Walnut) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
- The Griffins' lone victory came at No. 4 singles.
Match 2 - ONU 3, CC 4
- The Camels won the doubles point by taking courts 1 and 2, then won three of the six singles courts.
- Okrainec and senior Miranda Wills (Ada) won at No. 3 doubles 6-2.
- Hurst won 6-4, 7-5 at No. 4 singles.
- Cruser followed with a 0-6, 7-5, 10-7 win at No. 3 singles to tie the match at 2-2.
- Bell won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and the match was tied at 3-all.
- CC then won the deciding match 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 singles to grab the match 4-3.

- Cruser leads the team this season with a 14-3 singles record, with Hurst second at 12-4.
- Wills and Robinson each have a team-best nine wins in doubles play.
- Cruser leads the team with an 20-12 overall record, with Bell right behind at 19-13.
