Six Polar Bears named All-OAC in Women's Tennis; Swisher named OAC Coach of the Year

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomores Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.), Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights), and Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn), fifth-year senior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), and juniors Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) and Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference for 2024 in voting conducted by the league's head coaches.
Second-year head coach Sean Swisher was also named the OAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.
Bell, Cruser, and Hurst were all named First Team All-OAC.
Three-time OAC Player of the Week, Bell was also named to First Team in 2023. This year, she had a record of 35-19, including a singles record of 17-9 and a doubles record of 18-10. In her career, she is 66-38 overall, 35-13 in singles and 30-22 in doubles.
Cruser was also named to First Team in 2023. She ended the season with a 21-8 singles record and was also 15-14 in doubles for an overall record of 36-22. She led the team in both overall wins and singles wins. In her career she is 58-43, including 31-20 in singles and 27-23 in doubles.
Hurst was named to First Team All-OAC in 2023 as well. This season, she ended with a 30-21 record, including a 15-9 singles record and 15-12 doubles record. Overall, she is 58-36 in her career, including in 27-17 singles and 31-19 in doubles.
College Sports Communicators All-District selections Landis and O'Connell were named to Second Team All-OAC.
Landis, who is now a four-time All-OAC selection, went 28-7 on the season, including 15-3 in singles and 13-4 in doubles. She is now 125-39 in her career, including a 70-22 singles mark and a 55-17 doubles mark.
O'Connell, now a three-time All-Conference honoree after earning Honorable Mention status in 2022 and 2023 ended the season with a 26-11 record, including 15-9 in singles and 11-2 in doubles. In her career, she is 78-22 overall including a 54-18 singles record and a 24-4 doubles record.
Sheldon was named All-OAC Honorable Mention for a second year in a row. This year, she had a 10-9 singles record and team-best 19-8 doubles record for an overall record of 29-17. In her career, she is now 67-33 overall, including a 24-18 singles mark and a 43-15 doubles mark.
The Polar Bears ended the season 18-6 overall and made it to the NCAA Division III Tournament under second-year head coach Sean Swisher.
