Landis, O'Connell, Bell and Hurst named Academic All-District in Women's Tennis for 2024 by College Sports Communicators

ADA — Ohio Northern fifth-year senior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), junior Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) and sophomores Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) and Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) were named Academic All-District in women's tennis for 2023-24 by College Sports Communicators.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 GPA, be a sophomore or higher in athletic eligibility and have played in at least 50 percent of her team's games during the season.
Landis finished the season with an overall record of 28-7, including a 15-3 record in singles play and 13-4 mark in doubles.
In five seasons at ONU, Landis is 125-43 overall, going 70-26 in singles and 55-17 in doubles.
Landis is a two-time Academic All-District honoree.
O'Connell closed the season with a 26-11 overall mark, including 15-9 in singles and 11-2 in doubles.
In three seasons at ONU, O'Connell is 54-11 overall, including 54-18 in singles and 24-4 in doubles.
She is now a two-time Academic All-District honoree.
Bell was named OAC Player of the Week on March 11 and was 17-9 in singles, 18-10 in doubles and 35-19 overall this season.
In her two seasons as a Polar Bear, Bell is 35-13 in singles, 30-22 in doubles and is 65-35 overall.
Hurst was 15-9 in singles, 15-12 in doubles and 30-21 overall this season.
In her two seasons at Ohio Northern, Hurst is 27-17 in singles, 31-19 in doubles and is 58-36 overall.
The Academic All-District Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
The Polar Bears finished the 2023-24 season 18-6 overall, were second in the OAC with a 5-1 mark, won the OAC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA III Championships under second-year head coach Sean Swisher.
