Women's Tennis falls 8-1 in Spring season opener against Hope (Mich.)

LIMA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team opened up its spring schedule on Saturday with an 8-1 loss against Hope (Mich.) indoors at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.

The Basics

The Match

• Hope swept the three doubles courts to grab a 3-0 lead entering singles play.
• The match was scored with the Division II 7-point formula in which the winner of 2 of the 3 doubles courts wins 1 team point.
• In singles play, fifth-year senior Regan Landis (Elkhart,Ind./Concord) swept her court.
• Landis won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.

Notables

• The Polar Bears are now 1-2 all-time against the Flying Dutch.
• Second-year head coach Sean Swisher is now 19-8 at the helm of the ONU women's tennis team.
