Women’s Tennis remains unbeaten on spring break trip with 7-2 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.)

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team improved to 3-0 on its spring break trip Wednesday with a 7-2 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.) at the USTA Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-3 overall on the season while dropping the Crusaders to 4-6.
Northern won two of the three doubles courts.
Freshman Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) and Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) won 8-7(1) at No. 1 doubles, and freshman Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) and sophomore Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) won 8-4 at No. 2.
The Polar Bears proceeded to win five of the six singles courts to clinch the match.
Hurst won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, Bell won 6-0, 4-6, 10-4 at No. 3, senior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) won 5-7, 6-4, 12-10 at No. 4, junior Olivia Kesner (Lima/Central Catholic) won 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 at No. 5, and sophomore Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) won 7-6(4), 6-2 at No. 6.
The Polar Bears return to action on Thursday at 2 p.m. against Springfield (Mass.) for the fourth of their five-match spring break trip.
