Six named All-OAC in Women’s Tennis for 2022

ADA — Six members of the Ohio Northern women's tennis team were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference for 2022 in voting conducted by the league's head coaches.
Sixth-year senior Katie Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) and sophomore Olivia Kesner (Lima/Central Catholic) were named First Team All-Conference, junior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) and freshman Miranda Wills (Ada) were Second Team All-OAC selections, and junior Jeorgia Templin (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and freshman Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) received Honorable Mention honors.
Curry earned First Team honors after being named as an Honorable Mention as a junior and fifth-year senior. She closed the year with a school-record 91 career singles victories. She also ranks third in school history with 168 overall wins and is tied for sixth all-time with 77 career doubles victories.
Curry was 10-2 in singles play and 10-1 in doubles this season for an overall mark of 20-3 and was named OAC Player of the Week on April 18. In her six seasons at ONU, she is 168-56 overall, including 91-22 in singles play and 77-34 in doubles.
Kesner earned First Team All-Conference honors for the second straight season after posting a record of 19-36 in 2021-22. She was 8-19 in singles play and 11-17 in doubles.
In her two years at ONU, Kesner is 14-21 in singles, 17-20 in doubles and 31-41 overall.
Landis, a Second Team All-OAC selection for the second straight season, led ONU with 39 overall victories and tied for the team lead with 18 doubles wins while ranking second in singles wins with 21. She finished the year with a 39-12 overall record, including 21-6 in singles and 18-6 in doubles, and was named OAC Player of the Week on May 2.
In three seasons at ONU, Landis is 77-24 overall, including 38-14 in singles and 39-10 in doubles.
Wills was named to the All-OAC Second Team after posting an overall record of 35-20, including 20-7 in singles and 15-13 in doubles, this season. She ranked second on the team in overall wins and third in both singles and doubles victories and earned an OAC Player of the Week accolade on Feb. 21.
Templin tied Landis for the team lead in doubles wins with 18 this season and earned All-OAC Honorable Mention status for the second straight year. She was 18-7 in doubles play and 7-1 in singles for an overall mark of 25-8.
In her three-year career at ONU, Templin is 19-5 in singles and 40-10 in doubles for an overall mark of 59-15.
O'Connell finished the season with a team-high 23 singles wins and ranked third with 32 overall victories. She was 23-4 in singles and 9-0 in doubles.
The Polar Bears finished the season with a record of 19-7, including a 6-1 mark in the OAC. ONU finished second in the OAC regular season standings and was the runner-up in the OAC Tournament under interim head coach Mike Bonnell.
