Senior Katie Curry named OAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern sixth-year senior Katie Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of April 11-17.
In the Polar Bears' lone match of the week, a 9-0 win over Marietta, Curry won 6-1, 6-0 in her first-ever appearance at No. 1 singles, marking her 25th consecutive singles victory over the past three seasons and 86th career singles victory overall.
She also notched an 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles to go 2-0 on the day.
The two-time All-OAC Honorable Mention selection is 5-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles this season.
In six seasons, she is 86-20 in singles and 70-34 in doubles for an overall mark of 156-54.
Curry ranks second all-time at ONU in singles wins and is tied for ninth in program history in doubles victories. Her 156 overall wins ranks fourth all-time.
The Polar Bears return to action on Tuesday for a home match with Wittenberg.
