Women's Tennis wraps up spring break trip with 6-3 victory over Emerson (Mass.)

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team wrapped up its spring break trip with a 6-3 victory over Emerson (Mass.) on Thursday night at the USTA Clay Courts.
The Polar Bears (11-4) finished their spring break trip with a 3-1 record as two of their matches were canceled due to rain, including the match Friday afternoon against Manhattanville (N.Y.)
Northern led 2-1 after doubles and won four of the six singles matches to post the victory.
Junior Jeorgia Templin (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and freshman Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) led Ohio Northern against the Lions (5-3).
Templin won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles and combined with freshman Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
O'Connell was a 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 winner at No. 5 singles and joined with junior Flo Sanchez (West Chester/Lakota West) to win 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
Junior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and freshman Miranda Wills (Ada) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles for Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears will return to action March at the OAC/HCAC Challenge at Franklin, Ind.
