NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team traveled to the Transylvania (Ky.) Invite to open their spring season and defeated Greenville (Ill.) 6-3 in the morning match and fell 7-2 to Asbury (Ky.) in the afternoon session at Top Seed Tennis Center.

The Polar Bears are now 8-1 overall on the season.

Junior Jeorgia Templin (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) finished the day 2-0 at No. 2 doubles with partner Miranda Wills (Ada), who was 1-1 at No. 3 singles to go 3-1 overall on the day.

Junior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) was 3-1 on the day as well with two wins at No. 4 singles and a win at No. 3 doubles.

Freshman Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) and Marisa Petrunich (Brownsburg, Ind.) were both 1-1 on the day with a win at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles, respectively.

Ohio Northern will face Transylvania (Ky.) on Sunday at 9 a.m. to conclude the Transylvania Invite.
