Women's tennis opens 2021-22 season with victories over Adrian (Mich.) and Manchester (Ind.)

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis teams opened its 2021-22 season with victories over Adrian (Mich.) and Manchester (Ind.) on Sunday at the Craft Tennis Complex.

The Polar Bears (2-0) began the day with a 6-3 win at Adrian in the morning, then blanked Manchester 9-0 in the afternoon.

Adrian (1-1) completed the tri-match with a 9-0 win over Manchester (0-2).

Freshmen Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine), Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) and Miranda Wills (Ada) each went 3-0 on the day to lead ONU.

O'Connell and Sheldon went 2-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles, while Wills was 1-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles.

The Polar Bears will return to action Friday-Sunday at the Oberlin Invitational.
