This Weekend's Matches: The Ohio Northern women's tennis team will continue its abbreviated 2021 season on Saturday with a 1 pm OAC contest at Mount Union ... A limited number of spectators will be allowed to attend the games based on the OAC's COVID-19 policy ... Each player will receive two admissions each game ... No tickets will be available to the general public ... ONU improved to 7-0 overall and stayed unbeaten in the OAC at 5-0 with a 9-0 OAC win over Muskingum on Saturday ... Northern won all six singles matches and all three doubles matches ... With her doubles 8-0 win at No.2 doubles with senior Jeorgia Templin, senior Mackenzie Wills set the school record with 173 total career wins ... Wills has 85 career doubles wins, four behind Meghan Letzia ... Senior Katie Curry ranks seventh all-time in ONU history with a 144-53 career record ... She also ranks fourth all-time in ONU history with a singles mark of 79-20 and is a perfect 13-0 on the season ... Saturday's match against Mount Union is the penultimate OAC match for the Polar Bears, with a rescheduled match against John Carroll ONU May 2 giving ONU all seven originally scheduled conference matches ... Mount Union lost a home match 9-0 against John Carroll on Sunday ... Mckenzie Cavalier leads the Purple Raiders with a 3-2 singles record this season.

Head Coach Scott Wills: Wills is in his 20th season at the helm of the ONU women's tennis program … He currently stands first in coaching victories among all active Ohio college tennis coaches (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA) and is the winningest coach in school history with a 388-102 (.792) record, including a 146-15 (.907) mark in regular season conference competition … He has also coached the program to eight regular season conference crowns and six OAC Tournament titles ... He was recently recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as one of the top 10 all-time winning women's tennis coaches in the nation.
