Senior Mackenzie Wills tied Ohio Northern all-time career singles wins record by winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles for her 83rd career singles win, tying the record set by Meghan Letizia from 2012-16 ... Junior Ola Latala won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and combined with freshman Olivia Kesner to win 8-1 at No. 1 doubles ... Senior Katie Curry, sophomore Regan Landis and Kesner won 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 5, 3 and 2 singles, respectively ... Freshman Mykaela Schriber won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles ... In doubles play, Wills and sophomore Jeorgia Templin won 8-0 at No. 2 and Curry and Landis won 8-0 at No. 3 ... Wills needs just one singles win to break the school record ... She is also second all-time with a career record of 163-48 and is 5th all-time with an 80-30 mark in doubles matches ... Curry ranks 8th all-time in ONU history with a 133-53 career record ... She also ranks sixth all-time in ONU history with a singles mark of 74-20 ... The Pioneers are 0-2 on the season after falling to ONU and John Carroll by 9-0 scores ... Head Coach Scott Wills: Wills is in his 20th season at the helm of the ONU women's tennis program … He currently stands first in coaching victories among all active Ohio college tennis coaches (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA) and is the winningest coach in school history with a 382-102 (.789) record, including a 142-15 (.904) mark in regular season conference competition … He has also coached the program to eight regular season conference crowns and six OAC Tournament titles ... He was recently recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as one of the top 10 all-time winning women's tennis coaches in the nation.
