Women's Tennis sweeps Roanoke (Va.) to improve to 5-2 on the season

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team improved to 5-2 on the season with a 9-0 neutral site victory over Roanoke (Va.) on Sunday afternoon at the Top Seed Tennis Club.
Sophomore Olivia Schrager (Dayton/Miami Valley) won the most exciting match of the day, rallying from a 6-1 loss in the opening set to win 6-4 in the second set and 14-12 in the third set tiebreaker at No. 1 singles.
Freshman Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), senior Mackenzie Wills (Ada), senior Katie Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) and freshman Jeorgia Templin (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) all went 2-0 on the day.
Landis won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, Wills won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles, Curry won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and Templin won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
Landis and Curry also won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles and Wills and templin won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Senior Kaleigh Cummins (Springfield/Northeastern) and freshman Florine Sanchez (West Chester/Lakota West) won a tight 8-6 match at No. 3 doubles.
Senior Jordan Dodson (Worthington) won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6 singles to complete the 9-0 win.
The Polar Bears will return to action the first week of March on their annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C.
