Cummins and Wills garner ITA Scholar Athlete award

ADA — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes for the 2018-19 season. Ohio Northern had two student-athletes make the list.

Juniors Kaleigh Cummins (Springfield/Northeastern) and Mackenzie Wills (Ada) earned Scholar Athlete recognition for being a varsity letter winner, earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the current academic year and having been enrolled at their collegiate institution for at least two semesters.

Wills logged a team-best 24-3 record in singles matches, going 21-1 in duals and 7-0 in the OAC. She also recorded a 26-6 mark in doubles, going 23-3 in duals and 6-2 in the OAC.

Cummins held a 4-8 record in singles action while going 6-9 in doubles.

The Polar Bears open the season at Defiance Sept. 4.
