Women's Tennis to open spring portion of 2017-18 schedule on Feb. 16 at Kalamazoo (Mich.)

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team will open the spring portion of its schedule in the dead of winter with a night contest indoors at Kalamazoo (Mich.) on Feb. 16.

The Polar Bears, who are 2-0 on the season with victories over Defiance and Concordia (Mich.) in the fall, will then travel to Albion, Mich., for matches with Albion and Adrian (Mich.) on Feb. 17.

ONU will then play six matches during its Spring Break trip to Orlando, Fla., from March 5-8. While in Orlando, Ohio Northern will train at the new United States Tennis Association Training Center in Lake Nona, Fla.

A match at Trine (Ind.) on March 18 will kick off the northern portion of the schedule.

The round-robin Ohio Athletic Conference schedule starts March 24 with a match at Heidelberg and concludes April 21 with matches against Muskingum and Marietta as part of the annual OAC Tennis Fest at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

A match at NCAA Division I foe Wright State is scheduled for March 25.

The regular season wraps up on April 22 and 24 with matches against Wittenberg and Oberlin, respectively.

The OAC Tournament gets underway with the quarterfinals on May 1 (or May 2). The semifinals and finals are May 4-5 at the Lindner Center in Mason.
