Ochsenhirt, Kelly lead Women's Tennis to 9-0 victory at Mount Union

ALLIANCE — Sophomore Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) and senior Lynn Kelly (Mason) led the Ohio Northern women's tennis team to a 9-0 victory at Mount Union on Saturday at the Mount Union Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 15-3 overall and are 2-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Purple Raiders fall to 6-4, 1-1.
Ochsenhirt won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Kelly won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles after the pair had combined to win 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.
Northern swept the three doubles matches as freshman Ola Latala (Grosse Ile, Mich.) and senior Christina Corbean (Dayton/Oakwood) won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles and freshmen Mackenzie Wills (Ada) and katherine Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Latala won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, Corbean won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles, freshman Kaleigh Cummins (Springfield / Northeastern) won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and Wills won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
Ohio Northern will play this Thursday and Friday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason at the OAC Tennis Fest.
The Polar Bears will have matches with Muskingum, Kenyon and Marietta.
