Women's Tennis advances to OAC Tournament Semifinals with 5-0 victory over Marietta

ADA — Sophomore Kirsten Adamson and senior Meghan Letizia each posted a pair of victories to lead the Ohio Northern women's tennis team to a 5-0 victory over Marietta in the quarterfinals of the 2016 OAC Tournament on Tuesday afternoon at University Courts.
The Polar Bears advance to Friday's semifinals with a 19-3 record, while the Pioneers see their season come to an end with a 6-15 record.
Adamson and Letizia won singles matches 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 6 and 3, respectively.
The match was played to completion, with the Polar Bears holding leads on the other four singles courts.
ONU swept to a 3-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches.
Adamson and senior Elise Smith won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles, Letizia and junior Brittany Toney won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles and senior Taryn Stromback and sophomore Lynn Kelly won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.
The Polar Bears will face third-seeded Otterbein in the OAC Tournament Semifinals on Friday at 1 pm at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.
The finals are slated for 10 am on Saturday in Mason.
