Women's Tennis wraps up regular season with 7-2 victory over Capital

LIMA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 7-2 victory over Capital on Saturday afternoon indoors at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.
The Polar Bears (18-3 overall, 7-1 OAC) will be the No. 2 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will host seventh-seeded Marietta in a quarterfinal match on Tuesday at 3:30 pm.
Against Capital, senior Taryn Stromback and sophomore Kirsten Adamson each posted 6-0, 6-0 singles wins to lead ONU.
Stromback won at No. 1 singles and combined with sophomore Lynn Kelly to win 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.
Northern took a decisive 3-0 lead by sweeping to 8-0 wins on all three doubles courts.
Senior Elise Smith and sophomore Morgan McGlothlin won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles and Adamson and junior Brittany Toney won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Toney and Smith also won singles matches, as Toney won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 and Smith won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
