Women's Tennis defeats Capital 5-0 in OAC Tournament Quarterfinals

ADA — The No. 1-seeded Ohio Northern women's tennis team defeated eighth-seeded Capital 5-0 Tuesday afternoon in the Quarterfinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament at University Courts.
The Polar Bears improved to 18-3 on the season and remain a perfect 8-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play. The Crusaders fall to 3-11, 1-7.
Junior Christina Corbean teamed with sophomore Brittany Toney and were victorious at No.1 doubles 8-0.
Junior Taryn Stromback and freshman Lynn Kelly took No. 3 doubles 8-1 while senior Michelle Tuma and junior Meghan Letizia were victorious at No. 2 doubles 8-5.
Stromback (6-0, 6-0) and Letizia (6-0, 6-0) would complete the sweep of Capital after winning at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively.
The Polar Bears advance to the OAc Tournament semifinals and will play the winner of Baldwin Wallace and Otterbein Friday as they travel to the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio in a 4:30 pm contest.
