Women's Tennis opens 2015 spring season with 9-0 victory over St. Mary's (Ind.)

LIMA — Ohio Northern opened the spring portion of its 2014-15 schedule with a 9-0 victory over St. Mary's (Ind.) inside Saturday afternoon at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 2-0, while the Belles fall to 1-2.
Senior Michelle Tuma and junior Meghan Letizia led ONU with a 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles and 6-0, 6-1 wins at Nos. 1 and 4 singles, respectively.
Junior Christina Corbean and sophomore Brittany Toney won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and junior Taryn Stromback and freshman Lynn Kelly won 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
Stromback won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and Corbean had a straight set 6-4, 7-6(5) win at No. 2 singles.
Kelly and Toney won third set tiebreakers to win their matches at Nos. 3 and 6 singles. Kelly won 6-0, 4-6, 10-8 and Toney won 6-4, 1-6, 10-8.
The Polar Bears will host Kalamazoo (Mich.) Sunday at 3 pm at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.
