Michelle Tuma records 100th career win; Women's Tennis tops Mount Union and Marietta

ALLIANCE -- Junior Michelle Tuma won her 100th career match, as the Ohio Northern women's tennis team picked up a 8-1 win over Mount Union and 9-0 victory over Marietta on Saturday.
The Polar Bears move to 20-4 on the year and remain a perfect 6-0 in OAC play.
The Purple Raiders fall to 10-5, 4-2 and the Pioneers drop to 2-9, 2-3.
Against Mount Union, Tuma picked up her milestone victory in doubles, as she teamed up with freshman Rachael Miller for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
She is the ninth player in women's tennis history to reach 100 career wins.
Freshman Meghan Letizia and junior Carly Olmstead won 8-6 at No. 2 doubles and sophomore Brittany Miller and junior Lauren Rife also won 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, freshman Taryn Stromback scored a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles, while Letizia won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Both Brittany Miller and junior Kelsi Wurm won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Also picking up a win for ONU was freshman Christina Corbean, who was victorious by a 7-6(4), 6-3 score at No. 2 singles.
In the match against Marietta, all courts played 8-game pro sets.
Rachael Miller and Tuma won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles, for their second win on the day.
Letizia and Olmstead and Corbean and Rife teamed up for 8-1 wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, respectively.
In singles play, Tuma and Letizia won 8-0 at No. 1 and No. 3 singles.
At No. 2 singles, Corbean won 8-3, while Rachael Miller won 8-0 at No. 4 singles.
Rife and Wurm both were victorious by an 8-0 score at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Letizia and Rife both went 4-0 on the day to lead the Polar Bears.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Saturday (April 20), when it travels to take on Baldwin Wallace at 1 pm.
