Women's Tennis wins eighth match in a row with 8-1 win over Mount Union

LIMA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team posted an 8-1 victory over Ohio Athletic Conference rival Mount Union Sunday afternoon at Westwood Tennis Center.
The Polar Bears are now are now 15-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in OAC play. The Purple Raiders fall to 9-6, 2-3.
Northern took two doubles courts to begin play.
Junior Christie Gales and sophomore Michelle Tuma won by a 8-4 score at No. 1 doubles.
Freshman Kristin Cellentini and Brittany Miller scored a 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles.
ONU went on to sweep all six singles courts.
Tuma won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles while Miller was victorious by a 6-2, 6-3 score at No. 2 singles.
Sophomore Carly Olmstead, sophomore Kelsi Wurm and senior Kristen Timperman were victorious at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively.
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Saturday when they host Baldwin-Wallace at 11 am.
