Women's Tennis falls 7-2 at nationally-ranked Division II Tampa on final day of spring trip

TAMPA, Fla. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team fell 7-2 at Division II Tampa Tuesday afternoon in its last match during its spring break trip at the UT Tennis Complex.
Northern falls to 5-3 on the season, while the Spartans improve to 2-6.
Tampa is ranked No. 41 nationally among NCAA Division II schools.
Freshmen Michelle Tuma and Carly Olmstead battled at No. 1 doubles to 9-8 before falling 7-3 in the tiebreaker.
Freshman Emily Mueller picked up one of the Polar Bears' wins at No. 3 singles, falling 4-6 in the first set before taking the next two sets 6-3 and 6-1.
Also picking p a win was freshman Kelsi Wurm at No. 5 singles, winning the first and tiebreaker sets.
ONU has a brief hiatus before hosting the University of Dayton at University Courts, Friday, March 11 at 3 p.m.
