Women's Tennis improves to 4-0 with 9-0 sweeps of Defiance, Sinclair CC

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team opened the home portion of ts 2010-11 schedule with a pair of 9-0 sweeps over Defiance and Sinclair Community College Tuesday at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-0, while Defiance falls to 0-16 and Sinclair falls to 1-8.
Sophomore Christie Gales went 4-0 on the day, winning twice at No. 3 doubles and once each at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Against Defiance, freshmen Carly Olmstead and Michelle Tuma won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, and combined to win at No. 1 doubles.
Against SCC, Tuma won at No. 1 singles and freshmen Emily Mueller won at No. 2 singles. Mueller and freshman Lauren Rife combined to win at No. 1 doubles.
The Polar Bears will return to action Friday-Sunday when they travel to Saint Louis, Mo., for the ITA Regional Tournament.
