Women's Tennis improves to 9-5 with victory at Malone

NORTH CANTON — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team picks up a 6-3 victory against Malone Saturday evening at the North Canton Racquet Club in Canton.
The Polar Bears improve to 9-5 overall while the Pioneers fall to 1-6 overall.
ONU won two out of three doubles matches.
Freshmen Emily Mueller and Lauren Rife won their No. 2 doubles match 8-1 over senior Lauren Armbrust and sophomore Kailey Kahoun.
The No. 3 doubles pair of sophomore Christie Gales and freshman Samantha Stulen had a 8-5 victory over sophomore Julianna Blaisdell and junior Stephanie Prasnal.
Freshmen Mueller and Carly Olmstead won their singles matches, Mueller won her No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-2 over sophomore Marie Konstan and Olmstead won her No. 3 match 6-3, 6-1 over sophomore Kim Knisley.
Gales also picked up a victory in her No. 4 singles match 7-5, 6-4 over Armbrust.
No. 5 singles was won by Rife 6-0, 6-1 against sophomore Hannah Swiger.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday afternoon at home against Indiana Tech at 4 p.m.
