LIMA —
The Ohio Northern women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Division I opponent Dayton Friday afternoon at Westwood Tennis and Fitness Club.
The Polar Bears now stand at 5-4 on the season while the Flyers improve to 4-6.
The match used NCAA Division I scoreing format with the doubles counting as only one point, and it was the first time on ONU history that a Division I opponent came to Ohio Northern for a women's tennis match.
Freshman Emily Mueller lost a tough match at No. 3 singles by a 6-2, 6-3 score to Maureen Stevens.
Freshman Carly Olmstead dropped a 6-1, 6-2 match at No. 2 singles.
The Polar Bears will be in action again Wednesday when they host Trine (Ind.) at the University Courts at 4 p.m.
Ohio Northern will also host USTA Kids Day at the match.
