Women's Tennis drops OAC Regular Season finale to Mount Union 5-4

ALLIANCE - Kristen Timperman and Mami Ito each picked up two victories as the Ohio Northern women's tennis team lost its Ohio Athletic Conference regular season finale to Mount Union 5-4 Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears are now 10-10 on the year and 5-4 in the OAC. MUC improves to 14-5, 6-3 OAC.

Timperman and Ito teamed up at No. 2 doubles to defeat Tara Biedenbach and Courtney Adamsky 8-2.

In No. 4 singles, Timperman again defeated Biedenbach 6-3, 6-1. Ito competed at No. 3 singles and defeated Mari Maki 6-4, 6-1.

Ashley Bonamer picked up the only other victory for the Polar Bears at No. 1 singles. She defeated Kacey Huff 0-6, 6-1, 6-4.

Ohio Northern will compete in the quarterfinals of the OAC Tournament on Tuesday. The tournament field will be set after regular season competition ends tomorrow.
