Women's Tennis downs Shawnee State 6-3

Vienna, W.Va. -- The Ohio Northern Women's tennis team posted a 6-3 non-conference victory over Shawnee State Friday evening in Vienna, West Virginia.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-7 on the season, while the Bears fall to 5-6.
ONU's No. 1 doubles team of freshmen Ashley Bonamer and Christie Gales defeated Shawnee State's Jamee Boyd and Angeline Schmitt 8-1.
The No. 2 doubles duo of Kristen Timperman and Mami Ito were also victorious over Stephanie Days and Sabrina Taylor 8-2.
There were four ONU single wins on the evening.
At No. 1, Bonamer had a stellar performance, defeating Jamee Boyd 6-0, 6-0.
Gales beat Stephanie Days 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 and Timperman won against Angeline Schmitt 6-1, 6-0.
No. 4 Polar Bear Mami Ito defeated SSU player Sabrina Taylor.
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday morning at 9 am at Ohio Athletic Conference foe Marietta
