Women's Tennis gets edged by Northwestern Ohio 6-3

LIMA - The Ohio Northern women's tennis team nearly defeated Northwestern Ohio but fell 6-3 to the Racers Saturday morning on the campus of Northwestern Ohio.
The Polar Bears move to 1-1 on the year after beating St. Francis (Ind.) 9-0 earlier in the week.
Junior Liz Bajusz was perfect on the day, winning both at No. 2 single and No. 1 doubles.
Bajusz defeated Ashley Carmack 6-1, 7-5 in singles, while teaming with freshman Ashley Bonamer in double to beat Jamie Hilborn and Erynn Piper 8-4.
Freshman Christie Gales was the only other Polar Bear to enter the win column today with a 6-7 (7-9), 6-2, 6-1 victory over Jessie Stambaugh at No. 3 singles.
Gales and fellow freshman Kaitlyn Super were nearly victorious at No. 2 doubles, falling just short to Tara Carr and Katie Whittington 8-6.
Super and junior Kristen Timperman also had a chance to win at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Each Polar Bear pushed the match to three sets but could not secure the win.
The Polar Bears will compete at the ITA's on October 2.
