Women's Tennis moves to 2-1 in OAC action with 9-0 victory at Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio – The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept Marietta 9-0 Saturday afternoon at the Beren Tennis Center.
With this victory the Polar Bears improve to 5-7 overall and advance to 2-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Pioneers fall to 0-5, 0-3.
All three of the ONU doubles teams were victorious, defeating the Pioneers for a combined score of 24-1.
The Polar Bears also swept the singles competition.
Christie Gales performed exceptionally well, defeating Caitlin Cornell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Freshman Jenny Provost also had a great performance winning 6-0, 6-2 over Pioneer Sabrina Taylor.
The Polar Bears will compete next against Heidelberg at home on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
This match is the United States Tennis Association kids day at ONU.
