Freshman Abby Leatherman named OAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for second time this season

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Abby Leatherman (Findlay/Van Buren) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 18-24.

This marks Leatherman's second career OAC Athlete of the Week honor, as she also earned the award on Oct. 28 this season.

She earned the honor by posting four top-5 finishes, leading the Polar Bears to a second place finish at the 8-team Wabash (Ind.) Invitational Friday-Sunday.

Leatherman finished second in the 200 fly in 2:16.05, was third in the 100 breast in 1:08.10, was fourth in the 200 I.M. in 2:14.09 and was fifth in the 200 breast in 2:32.67.

The Polar Bears (2-1 overall, 2-1 OAC) will be off for the holidays and will return to action Jan. 11 with an OAC dual at Mount Union.
