Women's Swimming and Diving finishes fourth at Calvin (Mich.) Quad meet

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team finished fourth at the Calvin (Mich.) Quad meet Friday and Saturday.
The Basics
- The Polar Bears were fourth with 609 points over 20 events.
- Records: Ohio Northern (1-1 Overall, 1-1 OAC).
- Calvin (Mich.) won the meet with 1254 points, Carthage (Wis.) was second with 834 points and Albion (Mich.) was third with 616 points.
- Venue: Venema Aquatic Center - Grand Rapids, Mich.
Meet Highlights
- Senior Hannah Eversole (Cincinnati/Mt. Notre Dame) and freshmen Teagan Stermer (Bradenton, Fla./Christian) and Abby Leatherman (Findlay/Van Buren) led the Polar Bears with three top-10 individual finishes each.
- Stermer was 2nd in the 200-yard back in 2;20.93, was 6th in the 100 back in 1:04.35 and was 10th in the 100 fly in 1:03.92.
- Eversole was 3rd in the 400 I.M. in 5:03.36, was 8th in the 200 I.M. in 2:21.08 and was 9th in th 200 fly in 2:26.10.
- Leatherman was 4th in the 200 breast in 2:36.82, was 5th in the 100 breast in 1:10.32 and was 7th in the 200 I.M. in 2:18.56.
- Freshman Gillian Yoder (Waterville/Anthony Wayne) scored 342.80 points on 11 dives to finish 3rd in the 1-meter diving event.
- Freshman Kate Kalmanowicz (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) was 5th in the 400 I.M. in 5:05.85.
- 5th-year senior Katie Bend (Carmel, Ind.) was 9th in the 1650 free in 19:56.38.
- The 800 free relay team of Kalmanowicz, Eversole, Bend and freshman Lila DeLong (New Albany) was 4th in 8:38.03.
- The 400 free relay taem of Leatherman, DeLong, Eversole and Kalmanowicz was 5th in 3:54.43.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 20 events, including 15 individual races, five relays and two diving events.
- Each team's top four finishers in each event scored team points.
- Austin Veltman is 27-29 in his seventh season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
