Freshman Abby Leatherman sweeps breaststroke events, leads Women's Swimming and Diving in 173-75 loss at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS —  The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team dropped a 173-75 dual meet at John Carroll on Saturday afternoon.

Meet Highlights

• Freshman Abby Leatherman (Findlay/Van Buren) swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100-yard breast in 1:11.44 and the 200 in 2:37.13.
• Freshman Gillian Yoder (Waterville/Anthony Wayne) was second in the diving events. She scored 183.98 in the 1-meter and 169.05 in the 3-meter.
• Senior Hannah Eversole (Cincinnati/Mt. Notre Dame) was second in the 200 I.M. in 2:23.23.
• Freshman Kate Kalmanowicz (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) was second in the 100 fly in 1:02.97.
• Freshman Teagan Stermer (Bradenton, Fla./Christian) was second in the 200 back in 2:19.28.

Notables

• The meet consisted of 16 events, including 12 individual races, two relays and two diving events.
• This was the second of nine regular season meets for Ohio Northern this season.
• Austin Veltman is 27-29 in his seventh season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
