Brown, Starkey lead Women's Swimming and Diving in OAC dual meet with Mount Union on Senior Day

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team fell to Ohio Athletic Conference foe Mount Union 177-102 on Senior Day Saturday afternoon.

Meet Highlights
- Juniors Mara Brown (Fremont/Ross) three individual events and fifth-year senior Shelby Starkey (Bellefontaine) won two individual events to lead the Polar Bears.
- Brown captured the 100-yard breast in 1:12.18, the 100 fly in 1:02.33 and the 200 I.M. in 2:22.03.
- Starkey won the 100 back in 1:01.11 and the 200 back in 2:13.53.
- The pair also combined with junior Morgan Fernandez (Huber Heights/Wayne) and freshman Ashleigh Nelson (Byron Center, Mich.) to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:54.89.
- Brown and Starkey had a hand in all six of Northern's event victories.

- The meet consisted of 16 events, including 12 individual races, two relays and two diving events.
- The meet is the eighth of 11 regular-season contests for Ohio Northern.
- Northern won 6 of the 16 events.
- Austin Veltman is now 24-25 in his sixth season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
