Women's Swimming and Diving posts 1-1 record in tri-meet against Wooster, Bluffton

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team defeated Bluffton 155-29 but fell 169-66 to Wooster in a home tri-meet on Friday night.

Meet Highlights
- Freshman Courtney Wenker (Cincinnati/Indian Hill) won the 1-meter diving competition with 161.80 points for six dives and won the 3-meter diving competition with 170.30 points for six dives.
- Fifth-year senior Shelby Starkey (Bellefontaine) won the 200 back in 2:13.69.
- Starkey joined juniors Mara Brown (Fremont/Ross) and Morgan Fernandez (Huber Heights/Wayne) and freshman Ashleigh Nelson (Byron Center, Mich.) in placing second in the 400 medley relay in 4:16.45.
- Brown was also second in the 200 fly in 2:23.60 and the 200 breast in 2:44.95.
- Nelson added third-place finishes in the 200 free in 2:08.59 and the 100 free in :57.37.
- The 400 free relay team of juniors Annie Richters (Troy/Miami East), Hannah Eversole (Cincinnati/Mt. Notre Dame), Sydney Selinsky (Dover/Tuscarawas Central Catholic) and senior Katie Bend (Carmel, Ind.) placed third in 4:03.40.

- The meet consisted of 13 events, including nine individual races, two relays and two diving events.
- The meet is the seventh of 11 regular-season contests for Ohio Northern.
- Austin Veltman is now 24-24 in his sixth season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
