Women's Swimming and Diving falls in tri-meet at Oberlin with No. 1 Kenyon

OBERLIN — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team fell to No. 1-ranked Kenyon and Oberlin in a tri-meet at Oberlin's Carr Pool on Friday night.
The Polar Bears (1-3 overall) were downed 194-61 by Kenyon and 167-102 by Oberlin.
Senior Shelby Starkey (Bellefontaine) and sophomores Hannah Eversole (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) and Mara Brown (Fremont/Ross) each had second place finishes to lead ONU.
Starkey was second in the 200 back in 2:14.55, Eversole was second in the 200 fly in 2:27.13 and Brown was second in the 100 fly in 1:01.65.
Starkey also had a third place finish in the 100 back in 1:01.83. Brown added a pair of fourth place finishes in the 100 breast (1:11.56) and the 200 I.M. (2:18.23).
Eversole was also fifth in the 500 free in 5:45.83.
Senior Abby Schauer (Beavercreek) was fourth in the 200 breast in 2:44.69.
Senior Gabbie Grant (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview) and junior Katie Bend (Carmel, Ind.) also had fifth place finishes.
Grant was fifth in the 1000 free in 11:48.55 and Bend was fifth in the 200 free in 2:08.32.
The Polar Bears return to action Saturday at 1 pm with an Ohio Athletic Conference meet at Mount Union.
