Mara Brown leads Women's Swimming and Diving at University of Chicago Phoenix Fall Classic

CHICAGO, Ill. — Sophomore Mara Brown (Fremont/Ross) had a pair of top-20 finishes to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team at the 11-team Chicago (Ill.) Phoenix Fall Classic Friday-Sunday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool.
The Polar Bears finished the non-scoring meet with seven top-20 finishes at the University of Chicago's 10-lane pool.
Brown was 15th in the 200 fly in 2:16.38 and was 18th in the 100 fly in :59.70 to lead ONU.
Three Polar Bears finished in the top 20 in the 400 I.M.
Sophomore Hannah Eversole (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) was 17th in 4:57.50, senior Abby Schauer (Beavercreek) was 18th in 4:58.81 and sophomore Aubrey Pritchard (Delaware/Olentangy Berlin) was 20th in 5:19.42.
Senior Shelby Starkey (Bellefontaine) was 18th in the 200 back in 2:11.10 and junior Kaitlyn Sullivan (Kettering/Fairmont) was 19th in the 1650 free in 19:01.49.
The meet was dominated by No. 3-ranked Chicago, NCAA Division I St. Louis University and several nationally prominent NCAA Division II schools.
The Polar Bears return to action Jan. 13 in a tri-meet at No. 1 Kenyon with Oberlin.
