UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Sophomore Mara Brown (Fremont/Ross) posted three second place finishes to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team in a 229-65 loss at John Carroll on Saturday at Johnson Natatorium.

The Polar Bears are now 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue Streaks improve to 1-0, 1-0.

Brown finished second in the 100 fly in 1:02.85, the 200 fly in 2:21.30 and the 200 I.M. in 2:22.06.

Senior Shelby Starkey (Bellefontaine) was second in the 200 back in 2:17.00 and sophomore Hannah Eversole (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) was second in the 1000 free in 11:49.69.

The Polar Bears will return to action Friday-Saturday at the Calvin (Mich.) Quad Meet.
