ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Mara Brown (Fremont/Ross) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Jan. 24-30.
This marks the second such accolade for Brown this season, as she also earned the honor on Nov. 1 following ONU's 157-139 dual meet win over John Carroll.
The latest accolade comes after Brown helped the Polar Bears to a 151-83 win at Baldwin Wallace on Friday as Northern won eight of the 13 events en route to finishing the season with a perfect 4-0 record against OAC opponents.
ONU has now finished on top of the OAC regular-season standings 11 times in school history.
Brown claimed a pair of individual victories Friday, winning the 200 I.M. in 2:18.37 and the 200 fly in 2:19.49.
She won the 200 fly by a margin of 9.54 seconds.
Brown was also part of ONU's first-place 200 medley relay team that finished in a time of 1:55.82.
The Polar Bears return to action Feb. 17-19 at the OAC Championships meet at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.
