Lubinski wins 50 free title, leads Women's Swimming & Diving on first day of 2021 OAC Championships

GENEVA — Junior Megan Lubinski (Loveland/Brighton) won the 50 free to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming & diving team on the first day of the 2021 Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday at the SPIRE Institute.
The Polar Bears are in third place after day one of the three-day meet with 148 points through five of 20 events.
Lubinski touched first in :24.25 to earn her first OAC individual title. She is now a 7-time All-OAC honoree.
The top three in the individual events and the top two relay teams earn All-Conference accolades.
Lubinski also anchored the 400 medley relay team that finished second in 4:08.69.
Sophomore Shelby Starkey (Bellefontaine), sophomore Abby Schauer (Beavercreek) and junior Mya Parsons (Castle Rock, Colo./Arapahoe) all earned All-Conference honors on the relay team.
Senior Marissa Taylor (Granite Falls, N.C./South Caldwell) earned All-OAC kudos with a third place finish in the 200 I.M. in 2:14.80. She is now a 10-time All-OAC performer and is a three-time honoree in the 200 I.M.
Seven more events will be contested on Friday with prelims beginning at 10 am and finals at 6 pm.
The final eight events will be on Sunday with prelims also beginning at 10 am and finals at 6 pm.
