Freshman Abby Schauer named OAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman freshman Abby Schauer (Beavercreek) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Dec. 2-8.

Schauer was strong at the Wooster Invitational, finishing fourth in the 200 back in 2:09.53, sixth in the 400 I.M. in 4:50.81 and ninth in the 200 I.M. in 2:15.20.

She was also a member of the 400 medley relay team that was seventh in 4:11.99 and the 800 free relay team that finished 10th in 8:25.98.

ONU finished the meet sixth out of seven teams with 822 points.

The Polar Bears will return to action Jan. 10 when they host a tri-meet with Kenyon and Oberlin at the ONU Sports Center Natatorium.
