Senior Kierra Watson leads Women's Swimming and Diving on Senior Day with a tri-meet against #16 Case Western Reserve and Hillsdale (Mich.)

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team celebrated Senior Day with a tri-meet against No. 16-ranked Case Western Reserve and NCAA Division II foe Hillsdale (Mich.) on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears (4-4 overall) fell to CWRU (7-2) 243-54 and to HC (6-7) 171-106. CWRU also topped HC 204-90 to complete the tri-meet.
Senior Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind.), sophomore Marissa Taylor (Granite Falls, N.C./South Caldwell) and freshman Megan Lubinski (Milford/Brighton) paced Ohio Northern.
Watson was second in the 100 back in 1:01.93 and was part of ONU's 200 medley relay and 400 free relay teams that placed fourth in their respective events.
Watson, juniors Katey Stuart (Ada) and Kyley Stuart (Ada) and Lubinski were fourth in the 200 free relay in 1:54.16.
Lubinski, Watson, freshman Lauren Shaw (Port Clinton) and Taylor were fourth in the 400 free relay in 3:48.23.
Lubinski also placed second in the 50 free in :25.53 and was fourth in the 100 free in :56.75.
Taylor also had two individual top-4 finishes, touching third in the 1000 free in 11:22.42 and fourth in the 200 back in 2:16.34.
Katey Stuart also placed fourth in the 100 breast in 1:11.75.
Junior Libby Sartschev (Parma/Normandy) placed fourth in the 1-meter diving with 157.65 points and the 3-meter diving with 158.36 points.
The Polar Bears will take the next two weeks off to prepare for the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Feb. 14-16 at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.
